Chairman Green Applauds House Passage of "One Big, Beautiful Bill Act," Urges Swift Action From Senate
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mark E. Green, MD (R-TN) issued the following statement applauding the House’s passage of H.R. 1, the “One Big, Beautiful Bill Act”:
“This vote sends a clear message to the American people that House Republicans follow through on our promises, and shows the world that our borders are once again sovereign and secure.
“The border security funding included in this bill, which was advanced by the House Homeland Security Committee, will enable us to finish the border barrier system and provide crucial resources to help Border Patrol agents and Customs and Border Protection officers carry out their missions and continue President Trump’s proven border security agenda.
“House Republicans are committed to delivering long-overdue resources to complete our nation’s border wall system; recruit, train, and retain border security personnel; provide our frontline law enforcement with the cutting-edge technology they need to succeed against evolving threats; continue the vital partnership with state and local law enforcement through Operation Stonegarden; and support the states hit hardest by the Biden border crisis.
“After suffering through four years of chaos under the Biden-Harris administration, the American people gave Republicans a trifecta because they knew we would put Americans first. President Trump and House Republicans have held up our end of the deal. Now, it’s up to the Senate to swiftly follow suit and secure our nation’s borders for generations to come.”
