Democrats Reject Rep. Green’s Amendment Preventing Peaceful Parents from Being Labeled Domestic Terrorists
WASHINGTON—Today, Rep. Mark Green introduced a rules amendment to Rep. Bradley Schneider’s (D-IL) Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2022 (HR 350). Rep. Green’s amendment would have prevented HR 350 from basing senseless investigations into parents’ First Amendment activities in connection with school-related events, but Rules Committee Democrats rejected it.
Green said, “Last Fall, parents across the United States were accused of being “domestic terrorists” for speaking out against their child’s curriculum. It’s simple—the Biden Administration can’t be trusted. My amendment would have protected parents’ ability to speak up and question harmful curriculum like Critical Race Theory and obscene reading materials in their child’s school while ensuring parents don’t become the federal government’s next target—again.”
