WASHINGTON -- Last night, Rep. Mark Green voted NO on H.R. 3401, a partisan border supplemental bill that passed with almost no Republican votes. He released the following statement explaining his vote.

"President Trump requested Congress pass an emergency border bill that'd address the cause of our immigration crisis by taking measures to stop the illegal flow of migrants to our southern border. It'd also provide humanitarian aid. Common sense, compassionate measures.

"Democrats ignored the president's request until the media rediscovered the crisis last weekend. Rather than do anything substantive, they passed a bill along partisan lines that completely opens our borders, only encouraging more to make the dangerous trek. This is terrible policy that will only make the humanitarian crisis worse."
