WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Mark Green announced his support for H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act is a simple, common sense bill that would make concealed carry permits reciprocal between states. To put it simply, law-abiding citizens who are qualified to conceal carry in one state can also carry in other states that allow residents to do so.

After becoming a co-sponsor of H.R. 38, Rep. Green said: “Americans shouldn’t have to navigate different states’ bureaucracies in order to bear arms – a right enshrined in our U.S. Constitution by the Second Amendment. Signing onto this bill is a no-brainer.”

132 bipartisan Members of Congress currently support this legislation.

Rep. Green’s announcement comes as news reports emerge that progressive House Democrats are readying attacks on the second amendment and Americans’ constitutional rights. California Democrat Maxine Waters, the new chairwoman of the House Financial Services Committee, is reportedly going to begin “pressuring banks, credit unions and payment companies to severely curtail and even terminate relationships with firearm manufacturers, license gun retails and law-abiding citizens exercising their right to purchase and own firearms.” Democrats are also pushing a bill that would raise the minimum age to buy some guns.
