Chairman Green Issues Statement on Boulder Terrorist Attack

WASHINGTONToday, House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mark E. Green, MD (R-TN) released the following statement after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced law enforcement are investigating a “targeted terror attack” in Boulder, Colorado, against participants in an event calling for the release of hostages in Gaza:

“The House Homeland Security Committee is in close contact with DHS and the FBI regarding the heinous, antisemitic terrorist attack that occurred in Colorado today. I am grateful for the swift response of law enforcement officers and first responders on the scene, and I am praying for the innocent victims who were targeted. Antisemitism and political violence have no place in America. Our nation has now faced yet another act of terror this year, including the recent assassination of two Israeli Embassy staffers in our nation’s capital. This is another wake-up call to the heightened terror threat facing the United Statesand to the fact that the enemies of freedom are persistent. I am requesting a briefing from DHS for House Homeland Security Committee members as soon as department officials are available to provide one.”
