Rep. Green Gains Tremendous Support for Fight Against Biden’s War on Guns
Our Founding Fathers were clear about protecting the right to keep and bear arms, a right enshrined in the Second Amendment. Unfortunately, President Joe Biden’s mission is to strip Americans of this right, one step at a time.
Rep. Green is pushing back. In his latest effort to protect the Second Amendment rights of U.S. citizens and their ability to conduct business, Rep. Green sent a letter to the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), an agency of the Department of Commerce. The letter, which was signed by 87 other Republican lawmakers, objected to an unprecedented move prohibiting new firearms and ammunition export licenses. House Republicans are not the only ones upset about this action.
Here’s What They’re Saying…
“The American Suppressor Association applauds Rep. Mark Green’s efforts to reign in yet another bureaucratic agency gone rogue. The way in which the Biden administration is weaponizing the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security against an entire industry is abhorrent and should concern every American.” Knox Williams, President & Executive Director of American Suppressor Association
“NSSF is grateful for Congressman Mark Green’s leadership to demand answers of the Biden administration for this unprecedented policy of denying certain firearm exports for at least 90 days, if not longer. The announcement by the Commerce Department was published without notice or consultation. Firearm exports are, in fact, as secure as ever, with every firearm export license subject to end-to-end checks. The misguided policy of denying U.S. exports to international markets will only turn those international customers to other overseas manufacturers and penalize U.S. manufacturing to appease what can only be concluded as a politically-driven, special-interest agenda.” Lawrence G. Keane, Senior Vice President and General Counsel of National Shooting Sports Foundation
“This unprecedented ‘pause’ on commercial firearm exports highlights the Biden administration’s contempt for lawful commerce and the inalienable right to self-defense. On behalf of millions of members, the NRA thanks Chairman Mark Green for leading on this important issue.” National Rifle Association, said Randy Kozuch, Executive Director of NRA-ILA.
“All firearms export licenses already undergo significant scrutiny by multiple agencies, including the Departments of State and Defense. Unfortunately, this move by the Department of Commerce appears to be nothing more than partisan domestic politics under the guise of foreign policy. On behalf of FAIR Trade Group’s members, I want to thank Rep. Mark Green for his bold leadership on this matter.” Charles Fowler, President, FAIR Trade Group
"GOA has been closely tracking this export halt by the Biden administration, and we thank Chairman Green for investigating this move. GOA will continue to keep a close eye on further developments, and any news that comes from this Congressional oversight will be promptly shared with our members.” Benjamin Hyun Sanderson, Federal Affairs Liaison, Gun Owners of America
“House Republicans demanded Tuesday that the Biden administration revoke a surprise policy that shuts down the firearms industry’s ability to export guns to civilians around much of the globe, calling the move a ‘ridiculous’ attempt to cripple America’s gun makers. Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green and nearly 90 fellow Republicans, in a letter to the Commerce Department that is being reported first by The Washington Times, said the policy makes the world more dangerous for U.S. allies.” Stephen Dinan, Washington Times

“Green told the Daily Caller News Foundation there are ‘far too many questions’ surrounding the pause. ‘I’m demanding that the Department of Commerce immediately reverse its decision to pause firearms export licenses for American businesses,’ he said. ‘There are far too many questions here, and Congress deserves answers.’” Katelynn Richardson, Daily Caller
