Rep. Green Visits 101st Airborne Soldiers at the U.S. - Mexico Border

WASHINGTON—Rep. Green visited soldiers from Fort Campbell’s own 101st Airborne Division 3rd Brigade Combat Team at the United States - Mexico border last Friday.

While in El Paso, Rep. Green met leadership from the 3rd Brigade and fellow soldiers from the 7th District of Tennessee. He also toured various operations centers at Fort Bliss as well as sections of the U.S. - Mexico border where Rakkasans are stationed.

Green said, “It was an honor to visit our soldiers from the 101st down at the border and share our Nation’s gratitude to them for their service. These brave men and women are on an important mission to keep the homeland secure—and they are working seamlessly with the DHS agencies tasked with securing our border. Seeing the synchronization between DoD and DHS is very encouraging.”

“Witnessing the integration and teamwork between the 3rd Brigade Combat Team and Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) firsthand is eye-opening. Securing our border is a dangerous and difficult job, one that our brave soldiers and border agents, who work tirelessly each day to ensure the safety of this country and those who seek asylum in the United States, take very seriously.”

A combat veteran, Rep. Green continues to champion our troops and fight for border security. Last year, he introduced the Dollars for the Wall Act, which would allow taxpayers to designate their tax money toward building a Southern border wall, replacing the Presidential Election Campaign Fund checkbox on the IRS 1040.
