Rep. Green Votes to Continue the Trump Administration’s Progress
WASHINGTON—Today, Rep. Mark Green released the following statement on his vote in favor of a continuing resolution to fund the government through the end of the fiscal year, ahead of Friday’s funding deadline:
“Today, I voted to keep our government open.
This continuing resolution gives Congressional Republicans the time we need to implement President Trump’s agenda and begin important work on FY26.
I am pleased to vote for a bill that adds $6 billion for the Toxic Exposures Fund to treat veterans with service-related exposures to toxic substances. While this increased funding won’t fully meet the needs of our veterans, it is a step in the right direction. This is a cause that is extremely important to me. Last Congress, I re-introduced the K2 Veterans Total Coverage Act, which would establish additional presumptions of service connections for certain diseases—including cancer—that occur in veterans who suffered toxic exposure while serving at Karshi-Khanabad Air Base (K2).
Additionally, the bill increases pay for junior enlisted servicemembers to support our men and women in uniform. This bill also provides funds for the completion of 28 U.S. Navy ships and several Columbia Class submarines. House Republicans are committed to strengthening America’s military and standing firm against our adversaries.
This legislation also ensures there are no payment disruptions for Social Security and Medicare beneficiaries.
Lastly, this continuing resolution empowers the Trump administration to carry on its critical work to reduce our national debt and get federal spending under control. I fully support these efforts to identify waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government. President Trump is draining the swamp, and I stand behind him."
