Rep. Mark Green Announces Winner of 2020 Congressional Art Competition

Brentwood, Tenn.—Rep. Mark Green is proud to announce Katie Ann Edgeworth, a May 2020 graduate of Brentwood Academy, as the winner of the 7th District’s 2020 Congressional Art Competition. A panel of local art professionals served as judges for this year’s competition.

Katie Ann’s piece, “The Product of Bees,” impressively captures the reflection and movement of honey as it drips off spoons.

Katie Ann said, “It’s an honor to have my artwork hang in such a significant building. I’m so thankful that this opportunity is presented to students all around the country because it celebrates their hard work and connects them to the Capitol in a very unique way.”

Green said, “Katie Ann submitted an outstanding piece of art, and it is an honor to recognize her special talent and creative ability in the 2020 Congressional Art Competition.”

Each spring, a nationwide high school arts competition is sponsored by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982 to provide an opportunity for Members of Congress to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of their young constituents. Since then, over 650,000 high school students have been involved with the nationwide competition.
